DTBH – Twister Criminal or Neighborhood Bad Ass?

Duane Chapman Mug Shot

When it comes to Duane Chapman there’s no gray are when it comes to the highly popular yet extremely controversial reality T.V star better known as Dog the Bounty Hunter.

From racist rants, flamboyant dress attire and the “I wish I was a Cop” like attitude, there’s many reasons why many love to hate Dog the Bounty Hunter so much yet they still can’t seem to get enough.

Let’s face it – the entire Chapman family has their problems but we’re here today to discuss weather Duane Chapman is a twisted criminal with a jacked up prospective on life or if he is in fact a neighborhood bad ass who cleans out the filth and brings Fugitives back to justice.

First lets have a look at Duane Chapmans life…

Where did the nickname “DOG” come from? If you research anything about Duane Chapman you’ll see that a gang member gave him his nickname –”God” spelled backwards.

Here’s some snippets of Duane Chapman history from Wikipedia:

In 1976, Chapman and another gang member were buying marijuana in Texas, and Chapman was waiting in the car while the other gang member shot and killed the drug dealer. Chapman was charged with murder and sentenced to five years in prison. He served less than two of those years, at Texas State Penitentiary in Huntsville, TX. While there, he did field work and served as the warden’s barber.Because of this felony conviction, Chapman is not allowed to carry a firearm.

The controversy begins…

In addition to DOGs lengthy run-ins with the law (most recently in Aspen, CO) he seems to be more of a neighborhood punk then a neighborhood bad ass or is it he’s gotta be a punk to stoop to the level of the brainless fugitives he’s pursuing.

Christian… Really?

Is DOG really a Christian? Most ‘Christians’ I know don’t go around screaming obscenities, trash talking then later praying over people even if they are fugitives. DOG gives real Christians a bad name if he in fact claims to be one.

The bottom line is this. Dog is in the show business and show-business he is. His flamboyant attire, controversial attitude and whacked out family is perfect for Television and the drama many households die for.

Regardless if DOGs a twisted criminal or a neighborhood bad ass one things clear; he’s good at what he does regardless of the lack of style he brings to the industry.
